Pair of Attenuated Speaker Cables - Beomaster to Beolab
Sounds Heavenly are proud to announce that we have designed a set of attenuated speaker cables which contain electronics to allow them to be plugged into the speaker outputs of any B&O amp between 20 and 120 Watts to directly power any Beolab speakers with line inputs (ie. most past and present models except Beolab 2, Beolab 7.x and Beolab 10). These cables give the required level of attenuation to convert a speaker level output to a Powerlink level input, with no loss of sound quality. If you ever thought that you couldn't use B&O's active "Beolab" loudspeakers with your old B&O audio system or your non-B&O amplifier, then this is the answer to your problems!
This product is a set of two attenuated audio cables which reduce amplified volume levels by around 100 times to allow you to connect a pair of Beolab active (ie. powered) loudspeakers directly into your non B&O hifi system or pre-1990 amplified Bang and Olufsen Beomaster or Beocenter using the 2-pin DIN speaker sockets, where the loudspeakers have a line input mode - if you are in any doubt, please ask!
The cables were developed using a 1979 Beomaster 1900 and a pair of Beolab 6000 speakers, but virtually any B&O amp from the 1965 Beomaster 900K to the 1994 Beomaster 7000 can be used to drive anything from Beolab Pentas to Beolab 5 via the line input sockets. The only exceptions at present are Beolab 2, Beolab 7.x and Beolab 10, which don't have line input connections.
When combined with Sounds Heavenly's existing Powerlink to amplifier cables, this new development means that you no longer have to choose the "correct" active or passive speakers for your system. Selection of audio sources and speakers can now be made entirely on the grounds of either sound quality or aesthetics, with almost any imaginable combination now being possible. Those who are familiar with B&O products will know that this is truly a revolutionary solution with immense potential!
High quality speaker cabling with a figure-eight profile and a black outer sheath is used in our cables, with a slimline option available to allow you to easily hide wiring when planning your equipment installation. This cable profile also reduces cross-talk and impedance to give a clearer, cleaner sound. The cable is finished in black. Each cable has a 2-pin DIN plug (Male) at one end and an RCA (also known as "phono") plug at the speaker end as standard, with other options available for Beolab speakers requiring special connections, including Beolabs 3, 4, 9, 11 and 4000 mark 2. The circuitry is completely contained within the plugs at both ends of the cable, meaning there are no unsightly boxes to hide.
This cable is suitable for most of the current range of Bang and Olufsen Beolab active loudspeakers and many past models, including:-
It can be used with older Beolab speakers that have displays (such as Beolab 3000, 4500, 5000 and Penta), but the displays will not function.
Versions of this cable can be supplied to connect to Beolab speakers with special Line input connections, eg. Beolab 3, 4, 9 and 4000 mark 2 by selecting the appropriate option on the left of the page. Please contact us for details if this is of interest. Please note that this cable is NOT suitable for speakers that do not have a Line input option, eg. Beolabs 2500, 2, 7.1, 7.2, 7.4 and 10.
IMPORTANT NOTE: These cables contain electronic components built into the plugs at both ends of the cables. It is essential that no attempt is made to cut off the plugs or modify the cables in any way. If the cables are accidentaly cut or damaged, they should be returned to Sounds Heavenly for repair. Sounds Heavenly cannot be held responsible for any problems caused by damaged or modified cables. NEVER connect your Beolab speakers directly to the output terminals of an amplifier without using the correct attenuated cables, as this can cause serious and expensive damage to your speakers!
