S/PDIF Digital Cable for B&O Beolab 5 Speakers

This product is a professional quality, 75 Ohm audiophile digital cable to allow you to connect your Bang and Olufsen Beolab 5 digital loudspeakers to a B&O audio system with an S/PDIF digital output to get the absolute best sound possible with no compromise at all. This cable is purpose-built for S/PDIF digital audio transmission and will allow the excellent Beolab 5 digital speakers to show their true awesome potential, without being restricted by the limitations of standard analogue cabling.

One cable will allow one Beolab 5 speaker to be connected, so two cables will be required for a stereo pair of speakers. To use this cable, your audio system must have an unbalanced S/PDIF digital output. Suitable Bang and Olufsen systems include the Beosound 9000 and the Beocenter 2. Other audio sources with a digital output meeting standard IEC 60958 at 32/44.1/48/88.2kHz with an RCA (phono) output will also be suitable for use with this cable. To connect two Beolab 5's together, simply connect the audio system to the "Digital Input" of the nearest speaker. Then connect the "Digital Output" of that speaker to the "Digital Input" of the next speaker using a second cable. Remember to set each speaker to either "Left" or "Right" channel!

There are two connection options for controlling the volume with a B&O audio system, as you can either use Powerlink cables to do this (the audio signals will go over the digital cables for best quality), or you can use a "synch" cable between the loudspeakers to ensure they play at the same level. If you are using a non-B&O audio system with a digital output, you will need to choose the second option. A Beo 4 or Beo 5 remote control is needed. This listing is for one digital cable, not the Powerlink or synch cables, or the remote controller - if you are in any doubt, please ask!

High quality, premium branded, metal-cased plugs are used on our cables in preference to the cheap plastic plugs that you will see on many other companies' cables. Our metal cased plugs give better protection against induced electrical noise, which can degrade the sound quality produced. They are also far more rugged, to give you years of listening pleasure. We also use premium quality, gold-plated RCA plugs on our cables (as indicated by "Gold RCA" in the description), for the ultimate in quality sound reproduction!

Heavy-duty, audiophile-quality, Oxygen-Free Copper double-screened cabling is used in our cables, to ensure unrivalled sound quality, to prevent interference and to allow you to easily hide wiring when planning your equipment installation. This also reduces cross-talk and impedance to give a clearer, cleaner sound. The cable is finished in a subtle mid-grey colour.

Even fewer use Oxygen-Free Copper for optimum signal quality and hardly any others include a twin screen to shield the cable from interference. If other companies' listings don't state these specifications, then their cables usually don't come anywhere near our quality!
